2002 WINDHAM NH STRAWBERRY FESTIVAL

The Windham NH Strawberry Festival was held on June 1st at the Nesmith Library in Windham, NH. Organized by the Friends of the Library of Windham (F.L.O.W.), the festival proceeds are used to enhance the Nesmith Library through supplies, museum passes, equipment, technology and special events as well as programming in the library and public schools.

Local businesses were called upon to sponsor games and rides at the event and Bitwise was proud to sponsor several games.

Entertainment this year included the Windham Community Band, Dance Impressions, N.E. Gymnastics, Sidekick Taekwondo, Merrimack Valley Chorus, Limelight Barbershop Quartet, Pie Eating Contest, and the Windham Swing Band. Other activities included food, DJ music, games, raffles, clowns, and of course, the very popular Strawberry Shortcake tent. The delicious recipe was biscuit, ice cream, strawberries, and lots of whipped cream!

The Nesmith Library serves the town of Windham with a variety of important services and over 54,000 books. The library is named for Col. Thomas Nesmith who helped create it in the 1800s. It was housed in the Town Hall until 1899 when a field stone building was constructed by George W. Armstrong. In 1997, the library moved into its modern new building where the Strawberry Festival is held today.
