About our security

Bitwise Gifts uses the latest security systems to ensure that your private information is never revealed to others!

The security system turns on as soon as you click on "Secure Checkout" to begin the checkout process. That's when you will be entering your private information such as home address, credit card number, etc.

You can tell that your information is secured in several different ways:

1. Look at your browser address bar. Our address will begin "https". The "s" part of the address means you're now in "S"ecure mode. At other times, such as when you're just browsing the store and not sending private information, the "s" will be missing. For example, you'll notice that it's not displayed right now. That's because you haven't yet entered the checkout screens.

2. Depending on the type of browser you're using, look for the lock icon or key icon near the top or bottom of the browser window. When you see it, you can be sure that your information is protected. If you don't see it, you may need to enable your browser status bar.

Remember that you'll only see these security indicators after you've clicked on "Secure Checkout" since security is not needed when you're only browsing the store and placing items in your shopping cart.

Note that we never, ever store credit card numbers on our server. That means that no one can break in and steal something that isn't there!
