Our Edition 2 of the CAIDA Internet Map uses the most recent data capture. This visually stunning graph of Internet connectivity is a compelling snapshot of human history, much like the "Earthrise" photo of the seventies, which gave mankind a new self-perspective. Based on the "Skitter Graph" created by CAIDA (Cooperative Association for Internet Data Analysis) and the San Diego Supercomputer Center, the gorgeous graph "core" is composed of 35,751 color-indexed hairlines and 11,122 nodes. 54 major cities are shown on the outer ring. The data represented within the graph is CAIDA's most recent capture of: April 1 - April 16, 2002. The poster includes information about the study's methodology; developer credits, research collaborator/sponsor logos and a legend which will help viewers understand and interpret the Skitter Graph.
