SmileyStore.com announces the 2004
Smiley Summer Photography Contest Winners!
|
Meet the Judges
Contest entries were judged by Kellie and Michel vanRavestyn.
Kellie and Michel are both professonal photographers. Their studio is
the Foto Factory
in Haverhill, Massachusetts, where they specialize in wedding
and portrait photography.
"We love to capture the smiles on the children's faces," said Kellie,
"In return, we get to see the smiles on the parent's faces when they
see their children's portrait. What a wonderful world!"
"The combination of Amanda's smile and the smiley face cake is very
creative and appropriate to the contest," said Kellie, "good thinking!"
Concerning Trevor's picture, Kellie commented that "the smile is
absolutely contagious! What a precious picture."
"Erika's picture combines the child in the driver's seat of the
adult car to create a visually interesting picture," said Michel.
"Her intense smile reminds you of the advertisements of that age where the driver
is pictured as so enthusiastic about the driving experience. A very enjoyable picture!"
"Thanks for giving us the opportunity to judge this contest," said Michel,
"it was fun and we enjoyed the pictures. Keep on smiling and have a picture-perfect day!"

First Place Winner
Amanda Barr, age 11, lives in New Providence, Pennsylvania. This winning picture
was taken by her mother, Jennifer. Jennifer said "I wanted to enter Amanda but didn't
have any ideas for the picture. While food shopping earlier in the day, I saw this
smiley face cake and thought it would be the perfect smiley motif for Amanda's
picture!" Amanda also beautifully decorated the envelope she used to send in her
winning entry. Now, how about a piece of that yummy cake...! :-)
|
Second Place Winner
Trevor O'Neil, age 2, lives in Lawrence, Massachusetts. His dad, Dustin, took this
picture of a smiley Trevor being very happy about a spaghetti dinner.
"He doesn't usually get that carried away," said Dustin, "but he was having
such a great time, as you can see by the smile on his face." Trevor sure made us smile!

Third Place Winner
Erika Barr, age 5, lives in New Providence, Pennsylvania (yes, that's her old
sister above). This picture was taken by her mother, Jennifer. Jennifer said
"We had our 1957 Chevy Belair out and Erika was begging to drive, so I offered
to take her picture in it and she could pretend she was driving." Erika also
decorated her entry envelope. We can't help but suspect that the postal carriers
also benefit from the smile they must have, delivering such smiley mail.
