Alamance Gleaner, June 28, 1883

On Monday, the 18th inst., at Bellemoat cotton mills, A. M. Girton and Miss. Margaret A. Cates were united in marriage. The mill was shut down for a few minutes and all hands witnessed the ceremony in the shade of a big white oak at the east end of the mill.

On account of the rains of Sunday night, Monday and Monday night, Haw river was too full for the cotton mills to run.
