MINUTES OF BUSINESS MEETINGS1934

Church called to conference for the perpous of ordination of Brother R. A. Wilson for pastor. The motion was carried (37)
May 8, 1934
Church met in special called conference for the purpous as follows.

June 10, 1934
Board of Deacons met in special called meeting and voted to recomend the following.
1. that we get a lawn mower to be paid by the Sunday School.
2. that we pay the Insurence for 1934 - $9.45.
3. that we appoint a committee consisting of the pastor, Bro Dean & Hurley to pay the Missions as they see best.
Moved and seconded and carried we change the front doors of the church to the outside and get some enter doors. Moved we adjourn. Members present:

Aug 8, 1934
The church was called in conference with 18 members present by the Pastor Bro Wilson acting as Mater. Sister Artinsy Murray was elected as temporary clerk.
A motion was made by Bro J. R. Allen to change the date of our meeting from the 1 Sunday in Sept to the 12 of August 1934. A vote was taken and was so ordered.
A motion by J. R. Allen second by Inez Ashworth to have a memorial service the 3rd Sunday in Sept (16th). Was so ordered.
A motion was made by C. F. Phillips second by James Allen to see Mr. and Mrs. Green about securing a lot for a Community Simitary in front of the church. Was so ordered.
The committees for all of the above to be appointed by the Pastor.
No futher business. Was ordered to adjourn.

Aug 9, 1934
Bro R. A. Wilson Pastor conducted his first church funerial today. The little infant of Mr. and Mrs. Elsie Morris was laid to rest in Bethel Semitary by Rich & Thompson Burlington. Miss Edna Tyson was at the piano.
Aug 12, 1934
Sunday School today 132 present. Revival meeting started in the church. The pastor preached on the Sheapard and the Sheep.
Aug 26, 1934
Revival Meeting closed today with a record attendance at the Evening Service over 450 present. Bro Wilson preached on the subject of A Great Day and a Great Question. From this meeting we received 18 for Baptism and one by letter. Making 19 in all received from this meeting.

Before prayer the church was called in conference by electing Sister Inez Ashworth as Moderator.
A motion to remove all the book racks on acct of they are getting old and the nails are working out and causing the people to tear their clothes. So ordered.
A motion to appoint Bro J. R. and James Allen to set in the Council Meeting Sunday Sept 2 to exam Bro Wilson. So ordered.

At 2:30 pm the church met over at Bro Rascoe's pond for a Baptism Service. The following were baptised.

The Pastor Bro. R. Wilson read the scripture. Bro G. L. Murray led in prayer. Song - My Faith Looks Up to Thee. This was Bro Wilson's first Baptism.

This ended the election of officers and teachers after which the church letter was read and passed apon. And other letter was read by the chairman from our former pastor J. Rupert Coleman. Greatest of all. We were glad to hear the letter read of R. A. Wilson accepting the call of the Glencoe Baptist Church as pastor. Meeting was adjourned

On Wed. night Oct 17, 1934 the church was called in to a short conference, before prayer meeting to elect a janitor for our church.
Bro Geo M. Phillips was elected. And he asked that the church cooperate with him in his task as janitor. And he was assured of the cooperation of the church.

Oct 28, 1934
A special called meeting of the Deacons and Trustees, with the following present.
Ralph A. Wilson, pastor, Joe Tickle, J. R. Allen, Jim Allen, C. F. Phillips, Geo. Phillips, Nathan Pennington, Joe Morene, and Inez Ashworth C. Clerk. The business transacted was a follows.
1. Prayer by pastor R. A. Wilson.
2. Sugestions for a teacher for the men's Bible class, as Bro C. F. Phillips tendered his resignation as teacher. Due to fact, that his work was in a distant town and he could not be at church each Sunday.
3. The roofing of our church is badly in the need of paint. And Bro R. A. Wilson sugested that we make a special effort to raise funds for the same. And was highly approved by the board. With Bro Joe Tickle chairman of the board of trustees, to find what the paint would cost and sucure the same. Bros Nathan Pennington and C. F. Phillips said they would donate 1 gal each.
4. Moved and ordered that the clerk make a active and inactive list of all members and present them to the Senior Deacon.
5. Bro C. H. Hurley and sister C. H. Hurley asked that we erase their names form the roll as they wished to join another church. Moved and ordered that we do the same.
6. Moved and ordered that Bro. C. F. Phillips order 50 pkgs of envelopes for the church.
7. Moved and ordered that the church rent to Bro C. F. Phillips the pastoriam. Going into effect Nov. 1 at the rate of $7.00 per month and authorising him to have full authority of the house.
Moved and sencond that we adjourn.

The money received for rent of the pastorium. Was moved and ordered by the Board to pay insurance on the church buildings and repairs and other expences.

Nov 4, 1934
During the closing song at preaching tonight Bro Junius Rascoe came foward and extened his hand to pastor Wilson stating that he wished to join our church. Moved and seconed that he come in under the watch care of the church. After that we were dismissed.

Dec 2, 1934
A special called meeting of the Deacons and trustees was held after the preaching service this A. M. at which Bro C. F. Phillips ask the trustees to have the door steps of the pastoram fixed as they were in bad condition. Also it was decided by the Deacons that we should have an every member canvass of those that were inactive. There also was a discussion as to the pastor salary but Bro C. F. Phillips suggested that we take it up at a later date.
