MINUTES OF BUSINESS MEETINGS1928

April 11, 1928
Church met in conference after prayer meeting and the following order was passed upon.
Ordered that Bro Phillips make and have placed on the property of the church, leading to Bro Murrays store, posters of "No Trespassing by Vehicles of any kind but open to all who walk - vilators to be prosecuted." Was so ordered.

We held a series of meeting led by Bro Rev. B G. Whittly of Greensboro, N. C. No additions but the church was greatly helped by the services.

June 21, 1928
The church meet in special conference and get together meeting there was 16 members present. After singing hymn nos. 155 & 174 the pastor called on Bro John Allen to lead us in prayer. Then the pastor stated the object of the meeting and made a very nice talk about the condition of the church, then called on the others to say something. Bro G. T. Fawcette was the next to speak and made a splendid talk on his condition. Bro C. F. Phillips stated his feelings about the works of the church. Then the clerk read the church covenant.
Moved and carried and ordered that the Board of deacons visit the delinquent members of the church. Was so ordered.
No further business, was moved we adjourn.

About 9\30 oclock our pastor Rev. J. A. Hackney fell asleep in Christ at his home. He was 63 years old. The funerial was held at the Glencoe church on Aug 6 at 11 oclock by pastor M. W. Buck assted by C. T. Plybon of White Oak Baptist Church of Greensboro, N. C.
Pall bearers were as following - the deacons of the church - J. R. Allen, James Allen, A. B. Hall, G. L. Murray, Ernest Murray, R. A. Wilson, C. F. Phillips, Geo T. Fawcette.
Flower Girls - Edna Tyson, Hazel Murray, Mrs C. F. Phillips, Chas Hurley, Florine Marshall, Artinsy & Fay Murray, Inez Ashworth, Lula Wilson, Beulah Roberson.
The remains was then carried to Old Mt. Zion Cemetary after a brief service at the church.
