MINUTES OF BUSINESS MEETINGS1924

Jan 31, 1924
After prayer meeting pastor Lennon called the church together in conference and the doores of the church was opened to receive members. Bro Ernest Murray came forward and offered himself for membership by restoration and was elected by a standing vote.

Mrs Geo Riley was granted a letter to unite with Hillsboro church.

After prayer meeting the pastor opened the doores of the church and Bro Ernest Murray came forward for membership and was elected by restoration. He was together with Sister Artinssy Murray given the right hand of church fellowship.

Feb 14, 1924
After prayer meeting the church met in conference for the purpose of deciding whether to build our pastor home or not. Bro G. L. Murray was called to the floore as chairman. Moved and second and ordered we start our pastors home at once.

April 6, 1924
Rev S. L. Morgan of Smithfield N. C. came and preach for use 10 days and the following was aided to the church - Mable Payne, Ellise Payne, Evey Swaim, Nellie Swaim by baptism.
Bro R. M. Miller and Sister Frank Swaim came under the watch care of the church untill there letter could be precured from the 1st Church Burlington. Bro Frank Swaim was received by experience. Altogether 7 additions for the above meetings.

April 20, 1924
Today Easter Sunday we begin our special meeting. Bro S. L. Morgan will do the preaching. Bro Morgan came and held the meeting and the following was aided to the church by Baptism - Mabel Payne, Elsie Payne.
May 8, 1924
After prayer meeting led by Sister Lennon using as a lesson 14 Ch of Joshua, the church was called to conference by the pastor, acting as mod.
Moved and second and so ordered that we have our baptisms the second sunday evening in May 1924 if it meets the approval of the canadates.
Moved and second and ordered we elect the following as building comeety to act with the ones we already have namely G. L. Murray, C. F. Phillips, Geo Fawcette, R. A. Wilson, R. M. Miller, R. S. Lennon, aud.
Moved second and ordered we call a meeting of the board of Decons and finiance officers to have a meeting Monday night May 12, 1924.
No more business to come before the church. It was moved and carried we adjourne.

Aug 3, 1924
Church gathered at the river for baptisms. Received and Baptised the following - Mr. Sam Lineberry and Miss Docia Lineberry.

Bro R. M. MIller and wife was received into the church by letter from first Church Burlington, N. C.
Aug 31, 1924
Church met in special conference for the purpose of asking the trustees to borrow money to finish our pastorium. After the pastor stated the facts the motion was moved and second and ordered also to stand behind the trustees in the mater.

Moved and carried we grant bro Fred Atkinson a letter to unite with a church in Charlotte.
Oct 2, 1924
After a very brief prayer service the pastor called the church together in annual church confrence.
The letter to the Assoc was read and approved. Moved and carried we send Brethern G. L. Murray, Frank Swaim, Bedford Ward as messingers.
Next was the electing of the church and Sunday School officers.

Bro R. A. Wilson declined the election of Trustees and Bro Lineberry was elected in his place.
Moved and carried we send 2.50 as Minutes fund to asso.
No more business moved and carried we adjourne.
