[THERE IS NO LETTERHEAD]
At a regularly called meeting of the Glencoe Baptist Church, the Conference called Brother G. L. Murray to the Chair, while the duly elected Church Clerk served in that capacity, the following business was transacted:
It was unanimously voted to extend a call to Rev. E. C. Dean, of Louisville, Kentucky, to become our Pastor at such a time as he may deem it convenient to assume such responsibilities, and on the following conditions which follow established precedents:
That we shall expect him to preach for us on the second and fourth Sundays of each month, at the three o'clock in the afternoon (3.00 p.m.) that the same understanding as we had with our former pastor, Rev. W. H. Dodd, be continued, -namely, that at least four days per month shall be devote to pastoral visition in the homes of the members and among the people of the village of Glencoe and of the adjacent farming community; and that it be understood that he conduct the weekly prayer-meeting on each Thursday night.
For this service we obligate ourselves to make financial remuneration to the amount of Twenty Dollars per month, payable promptly, and such proporiton of the Associational and State Mission appropriation made to the Hocutt-Memorial-Glencoe Mission Field, as may properly be understood as being our share. Also that we grant a yearly vacation of the same duration and at the same time as may be granted by the Hocutt Memorial Church.
That we respectfully request an early and specific reply to this call.
Praying that the approval of the Head of the Church, our Lord Jesus Christ, may rest upon this our action, and that His blessing may rest upon our united endeavors to build up His cause and spread His Gospel throughout the whole earth, we are very cordially,-
(signed) G. L. Murray, Moderator
